           Ang pagpapakasal ay isang seryosong bagay na gagawin ng dalawang magkasintahan. Isa itong pangyayari sa buhay na kinakailangan pag-isipan ng babae at lalaki dahil sa ito ay panghabang buhay na pagsasama.

            Ayon sa kwento, hindi naging madali para kay Mr. Doran ang kanyang desisyon na magpakasal sa anak ni Mrs. Mooney na di Polly dahil sa una, ang agwat ng kanilang edad. Alam ni Mr. Doran na nagiging usap-usapan  ang kanilang relasyon ni Polly. May mga ugali rin na medyo hindi maganda, kay Mr. Doran ngunit binabaliwala niya ito dahil mahal niya si Polly.
